Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal!
It’s that time of year, the one thing everyone’s been waiting for; Christmas Specials! Here’s hoping you can finally catch up on all that TV, besides enjoying the um, the outdoors of course!
1. Doctor Who “Twice Upon A Time” – 25 December 2017
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Doctor Who Christmas special. And this one really puts the special in special. We have David Bradley guest appearing as the First Doctor (previously portrayed by William Hartnell), as well as our final goodbyes to Peter Capaldi before Jodie Whittaker arrives on the scene as our first female Doctor.

2. Black Mirror – ?? December 2017
So at this point, we’re pretty sure Black Mirror is coming out before 2018. I’m surprised they still have ideas at this point, but the team keep knocking it out of the park, revelling in the technological horrors they can inflict upon us.

3. The Crown – 8 December 2017
The Crown was actually bloody watchable in its first season, so I’m staying aboard this bandwagon. This marks Claire Foye’s last season before Olivia Coleman takes over as an older Queen Elizabeth II.

4. Dark – 1 December 2017
A German fantasy series that looks all kinds of creepy. I have no idea what’s going on but it looks fascinating.
5. Easy: Season Two – 1 December 2017
Easy is an anthology of stories set in Chicago, mostly around relationships and sex. Again, the show has a star-studded cast (okay, star-studded for TV) including Dave Franco, Aubrey Plaza, Marc Maron, Aya Cash, Joe Lo Truglio and more.

TV has always been a part of Michael’s life, but since the influx of streaming shows now he can’t stop (someone send help). He also dabbles in films and video games, and has a mean board game collection.
Michael has a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand. He has previously written about video games for publications including Game Console, Salient, and ButtonMasher.
